The first Pinoypoets Poetry Chapbook, [Öb•Vêrs] Obras in Verses, was successfully launched with the participation of the group's active members based in Manila last April 2 at Gayuma Café in Katipunan, Quezon City.

Aptly titled, Obverse [Öb.Vêrs], (the front of an object, (n.) the side, as of a coin, that bears the principal design), this collection contains the poems of writers who are now ready to offer their verses and their voices to the literary world and to willing readers. The statements in the chapbook preface are strong ones: "It is Pinoypoets, [adj] facing the observer, baring themselves, spilling their innards through their words. It is their invitation to travel in their world, to experience a fragment of their lives, to free the mind and drown in their metaphors and to let lines remain in the heart. It is their works of poetry, their obras in verses, bravely and proudly offered to the world. To be criticized. Even to be laughed at. But at the end of the day, and essentially the most important, to be read. To be shared."

Ora Poetika: Ang Unang Poetry CD ng Pinoypoets

Ora. Bibig.

Doon nagsimula ang lahat – mga awit, mga panalangin. Isinasapuso ng mga katutubo, isinasalin sa bawat henerasyong dumarating, idinadagdag at dinadagdagan ng karanasan. Mga awit ng pagdiriwang, pagluluksa, panghihimok sa pagkilos. Mga panalangin – oracion – upang dalhin sa himpapawid ang mga kolektibong hiling ng bayan.

Poetika. Panulaan.

Diwang-nagsa-titik. Inilapat sa papel, sa semento, sa buhangin, sa isip. Sa puso. Tungkol man ito sa dagat, halimbawa, o sa lungsod, tiyak na may nagpupumiglas na tinig, at humihiling na ito'y pakinggan. Bumubulong sa diwa ng mambabasa hanggang sa kalauna'y mamumutawi muli mula sa bibig.

Ora. Poetika. Sa ganitong anyo nagsimula, sa ganitong anyo pa rin iiral. Sapagkat ang pagtula ay gawaing hindi lamang pang-isahan – ito'y gawain ng mga nangangahas na magpumiglas sa katahimikan. Aanhin pa ang tula kung ito'y nakatago lamang sa baul ng paglimot? Aanhin pa ang tula kung hindi ito isinasapuso, isinasalin sa bawat henerasyong dumarating, idinadagdag at dinagdagan ng karanasan? Aanhin pa ang tula kung hindi naman ito makapupukaw ng nahihimbing na diwa? Makinig. Malamang na sa mga tinig nilang mga nangangahas ay marinig mo rin ang tinig mo.
